Co-founders Aman and Gemma created GROUNDZERO to revolutionise creative connections.

Aman Bayatly

Refugee-turned music producer with a decade experience in the creative industries bridging the gap between talent, community & opportunity. He’s seen how lack of access, structure & networks stifle creatives and realised that creatives need a dedicated online space to grow their community and careers.

  • Collaborated as Producer, A&R and Creative Director with award-winning artists with a talent for finding undiscovered creatives and nurturing them.
  • Designed and led Indigenous music programs across 150+ communities, raising $300K in grants to build studios and upskill emerging creatives.
  • Founded and exited a successful creative agency and studio—then realized that the future of creativity lies in a global digital ecosystem, not just physical spaces.

Gemma Colbran

Holding an Honours in Sociology, Gemma saw the creative industries as a market force issue. Creatives are the means of production, yet they are so alienated from its distribution and value. She wanted to solve this pain point to provide creatives more agency. So children would be taken seriously by their parents when they say “when I grow up I want to be an artist”

  • Gemma brings 10 years of sociological research into structural inequality 
  • Raised $$60K equity-free to launch a creative marketplace startup in 2020, uncovering that marketplaces don't solve the core problem of discovery and community.
  • Developed a network-first model grounded in community, ensuring creators not only have tools but also meaningful control over their work’s value and distribution.
